1.    PRIVACY POLICY

We, Faces of Hope, being a charity organisation, hosting through the website www.faces-of-hope.com (“the/this website”) are aware that the privacy and the protection of the *Consumer’s Information is an issue of utmost importance and we acknowledge that the right to privacy is one that needs to be protected. In ensuring that the Consumer is adequately protected as far as possible regarding the privacy of the Information that may be used on the website, we have adopted a Privacy Policy, which is set out hereunder and which subscribes to the principles outlined in Section 51 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act of the Republic of South Africa, as well as the principles contained in proposed legislation pertaining to the Protection of Personal Information Bill of the Republic of South Africa, some principles of which are incorporated into this Privacy Policy.

2.    OUR PRIVACY POLICY IS AS FOLLOWS:

2.1           The Consumer’s *Information will not be collected, collated, processed or disclosed by
us, without the Consumer’s prior authorisation, except in the event when      we are    legally required to do so.

2.2           We will only electronically request, collect, collate, process and store the Consumer’s
Information if it is lawful to do so.

2.3           We will disclose to the Consumer in writing the specific purpose for which the
Consumer’s Information is required. Furthermore, we will not disclose the Consumer’s             Information for any other purpose than for the purpose of the services which are offered on this website, or as disclosed to the Consumer, nor will we disclose any of the Consumer’s Information to a third party without the Consumer’s express authorisation, unless we are required to do so by law.

2.4           We will keep a record of the Consumer’s Information, as well as the third parties to
whom it has provided information or the intended recipients of the Information.

2.5           We will delete, destroy or de-identify all Information which has become obsolete, or
when it is no longer necessary to store the Consumer’s Information to achieve the  purpose for which the Information was collected, or if we are no longer authorised to  retain the information, unless we can appropriately safeguard such Information.

2.6            We may use the Consumer’s Information to compile profiles for statistical purposes
and may freely trade with such profiles and statistical data, as long as the profiles and
statistical data cannot be linked to any specific data subject, by a third party.

2.7    We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the Consumer’s Information is kept     confidential and secure, by storing it on a secured database.

2.8    We will endeavour to take all reasonable and necessary precautions to secure access to
the Consumer’s Information by unauthorised third parties; however, we cannot guarantee   that third parties won’t breach our security measures.

2.9    The Consumer’s use of this website is solely at its own risk.

2.10     We will not be held liable for any Information that the Consumer discloses to a third
party whose link may be found on this website. The Consumer is to ensure that it refers
to that third party’s privacy policy before it discloses any of its Information.

2.11    We may make use of cookies, whereby Information that the Consumer sends is saved
on the Consumer’s hard drive and our website will be able to identify the Consumer

2.12    This Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time and we shall endeavour to
provide the Consumer with a notice informing the Consumer of such amendments, or drawing the Consumer’s attention to the amended Privacy Policy.

2.13    Any use of this website by the Consumer, will automatically bind it to the most current Privacy Policy.

3    THE PRACTICES EMPLOYED BY US TO PROTECT THE CONSUMER’S INFORMATION:

3.1                 Authorisation for receiving and storing of information
As a user of the website www.faces-of-hope.com, the Consumer authorises us to   receive, process and store the Consumer’s Information which the Consumer enters in our database using the website, and we shall use this Information in accordance with the terms and conditions set out in this Privacy Policy, together with the Website Terms and Conditions document.

3.2                 What information can the Consumer record using the website?
The Consumer can record individually identifiable information on the website, such as, but not limited to, the Consumer’s names, postal and physical addresses, contact
numbers and payment detail.

3.3                  What is this Information used for?

3.3.1    The Information is used for the purpose of allowing the Consumer, as a registered Consumer, to purchase products on the website.

3.3.2    In the event that we wish to use the Consumer’s Information for any other purpose than that contained herein, we undertake to obtain the Consumer’s authorisation.

3.4                   Why does the Consumer need to register?

3.4.1             By registering on the website the Consumer enables us provide a portal for the
purchase and delivery of the products.

3.4.2              By registering on the website, the Consumer can gain access to the secure service
offered by our website which is only provided to registered users, which ensures that
the Consumer’s Information is not accessible to the general public .

3.5    How do we secure the Consumer’s Information?

3.5.1    The following security measures shall be put in place:

3.5.1.1    Use of a SSL certificate, which is data encryption security for the
transmission of data or information between the website and the Consumer;

3.5.1.2     Physical security provisions securing the server to the
website;

3.5.1.3       Use of internationally accredited licensed software, to protect the
database and the server from unauthorised access; and

3.5.1.4       All data will be encrypted on the database and/or the server.

3.5.1.5    We endeavour to implement the above referred security measures within due time, however similar or substitute measures may be implemented by us in our discretion.

3.5.1.6        The security measures, which are implemented by us, will be continually
enhanced and improved by us from time to time.

3.6    Protecting the Consumer’s password?

In order to protect the Consumer’s password, it is important to not only keep it a secret, but to also create a password that cannot be guessed by someone else. Because the Consumer’s password provides it with secure and confidential access to the website, it is of the utmost importance that the Consumer protects it and does not allow unauthorized use by others.

3.7    What are the Consumer’s responsibilities?

3.7.1    The only way for the Consumer to access its Information is through the use of its secret password. Therefore it is the responsibility of the Consumer to ensure that this password is kept completely confidential.

4        3.8        Will we share or disclose any of the Consumer’s Information?

The Consumer’s Information will not be disclosed to any third parties without the  Consumer’s prior authorization, and shall only be used in terms of the services offered on the website, and shall therefore only be made available and shared with the specified parties.

3.9              Third parties

3.9.1     Whenever we commission other organisations to provide us with support services, they may be required to have access to the Consumer’s Information to perform such services.

3.9.2     The website may contain links to or from other websites. While we try to link only to sites that share the same high standards and respect for privacy, we cannot be held responsible for the content or security or privacy practices employed by other websites. It is recommended that the Consumer always familiarises itself with the privacy policies on such sites.

3.10        When will we disclose Information without the Consumer’s authorization?

We will not disclose Information to any third party without the Consumer’s authorisation unless:

3.10.1    we are compelled to do so by law or in terms of a court order;
3.10.2    it is in the public interest to do so;
3.10.3    it is necessary to protect our rights.

3.11    Right to amend this Privacy Policy

3.11.1    We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time. The amended
Privacy Policy will be posted on this website.

3.11.2     In the event that the Consumer does not agree with the amended Privacy Policy,
the Consumer may terminate the services herein and inform us of its termination
so that we may delete, dipose of the Consumer’s Information.

3.11.3      Unless otherwise stated, this Privacy Policy in its current form shall supersede and
replace all previous versions of this Privacy Policy.

*      “Consumer/s” means the person who chooses to purchase products on offer on this website

*     “Information” means any personal details which the Consumer includes on this website, which includes but is not limited to its names, postal and physical addresses, contact numbers, e-mail address and payment details.
